Wendi is a full professor in the Department of Electrical and Computer Engineering at the University of Rochester. She holds a secondary appointment in the Computer Science Department at Rochester. She is also currently the Dean of the Edmund A. Hajim School of Engineering and Applied Sciences. During spring 2008, she was a Visiting Erskine Fellow at the University of Canterbury in Christchurch, New Zealand. She received a BS degree in Electrical Engineering from Cornell University in 1995 and MS and PhD degrees in Electrical Engineering and Computer Science from MIT in 1997 and 2000, respectively. Her current research interests lie in the area of wireless communications and networking, mobile computing, and multimedia communication. She is a co-founder and current steering committee member of N^2 Women, a member of SWE, a Fellow of ACM Sigmobile, and a Fellow of the IEEE Communications Society, the IEEE Signal Processing Society, and the IEEE Computer Society.
