Dr. Harivardhagini Subhadra, Chair of the Women Education & Empowerment Subcommittee of the IEEE Systems Council, delivered a keynote address at the 2026 IEEE 6th International Conference on Computing, Power, and Communication Technologies (IC2PCT-2026) held at Galgotias University, Greater Noida, India, from May 15–17, 2026.

The conference was sponsored by the IEEE Uttar Pradesh Section and IEEE Education Society. The event brought together academicians, researchers, industry professionals, and students from various domains to discuss advancements and interdisciplinary developments in Computing, Power, and Communication Technologies.

During the keynote session, Dr. Harivardhagini Subhadra extensively highlighted the vision, mission, and interdisciplinary strength of the IEEE Systems Council and emphasized the significant benefits it offers to IEEE members, researchers, educators, professionals, and students. The session focused on how the IEEE Systems Council serves as a unique platform that integrates multiple IEEE societies and technical disciplines to encourage systems-level thinking, collaborative innovation, and interdisciplinary research.

The keynote addressed the numerous opportunities available through the IEEE Systems Council, including participation in international conferences, technical committees, distinguished lectures, publications, networking platforms, leadership roles, mentoring opportunities, and global professional collaborations. Special emphasis was placed on the importance of interdisciplinary approaches in solving complex real-world engineering and societal challenges.

A major focus of the address was creating awareness about the formation of new IEEE Systems Council Chapters and encouraging institutions and IEEE volunteers to initiate and strengthen Systems Council activities within their regions and student branches. Participants were informed about the advantages of establishing local chapters, including enhanced technical engagement, collaborative research opportunities, professional networking, leadership development, and increased visibility of interdisciplinary initiatives within IEEE.

The keynote also showcased the activities and initiatives of the Women Education & Empowerment Subcommittee of the IEEE Systems Council. The audience was introduced to the subcommittee’s efforts in promoting education, mentorship, diversity, inclusivity, leadership development, and empowerment of women in engineering, technology, and interdisciplinary research. Various global outreach initiatives, educational activities, collaborative events, and professional development opportunities organized by the subcommittee were highlighted to inspire greater participation from students, young professionals, and volunteers.

The session generated enthusiastic interaction among participants, with discussions centered on IEEE membership benefits, opportunities for volunteering, chapter development, interdisciplinary collaboration, research networking, and the role of IEEE in advancing technology for humanity. Attendees expressed keen interest in engaging with the IEEE Systems Council and initiating future collaborative activities and chapters.

Participation in IC2PCT-2026 significantly contributed to enhancing the visibility and outreach of the IEEE Systems Council and its Women Education & Empowerment initiatives among the academic and research community. The event also served as an effective platform for strengthening professional connections and promoting future collaborations across institutions and technical domains.
