Vangelis Angelakis (Senior Member, IEEE) received a Ph.D. degree in computer science from the Department of Computer Science, University of Crete, Rethymno, Greece, in 2008. In 2015, he received a Habilitation (Docent) from the Department of Science and Technology (ITN), Linköping University (LiU), Norrköping, Sweden.

He is currently a Professor with ITN, LiU. He has authored more than 80 papers in international journals and peer-reviewed conferences. His research interests includes departing from the field of communication systems and their application in the IoT, lie in the area of inclusive and sustainable smart cities solutions design, implementation, and evaluation.
