Marco Parvis (Fellow, IEEE) was born in Italy, in 1958. He received the M.S. degree in electrical engineering and the Ph.D. degree in metrology from the Politecnico di Torino, Turin, Italy, in 1982 and 1987, respectively.

He is currently a Full Professor of electronic measurements with the Politecnico di Torino, where he was the Dean of the II Faculty of Engineering. His main fields of interest are intelligent instrumentation, application of signal processing to measurement, biomedical, and chemical measurements. He has authored more than 100 publications.,Dr. Parvis was a Fellow Member and the Chair of the TC 25 Medical Measurement of the IEEE Society on Instrumentation and Measurement.
