The Systems Engineering & AI Technical Committee: Current Initiatives and Opportunities
The IEEE Systems Council is excited to have a Technical Committee related to Artificial Intelligence. The Systems Engineering and AI Technical Committee (SE & AI TC) addresses the use of artificial intelligence to improve systems engineering productivity and effectiveness, as well as the use of systems engineering to improve the quality of AI-enabled systems.
This TC advances the theory, practice, and responsible intersection of Systems Engineering with AI by promoting research, cultivating a global community of experts, establishing industry relationships, educating the public, and creating standards. Products include webinars, conference sessions, special issues in IEEE journals, and recommendations and reviews for standards committees.
We are currently planning our first three Working Groups:
• Ethics Working Group, led by Ray Barton (IEEE Canada Policy Committee)
• Trustworthy Systems Working Group, led by Siddhartha Bhattacharyya (Florida Institute of Technology)
• Education Working Group, led by Maria Pia Fanti (Politecnico di Bari)
Maria Pia Fanti will deliver a talk that you do not want to miss on September 9 at 3:00 PM CEST (9:00 AM ET). She will be diving deeply into the world of Artificial Intelligence-based Services for Cooperative, Connected, and Automated Mobility.
We invite your suggestions for additional Working Groups and activities in which you would be interested, either as a member or as a lead. If you would like to join this Technical Committee, please complete the sign-up form.
Stephanie White, SE & AI TC Chair, will contact you and arrange for you to join the Working Groups in which you are interested. You can also write to her through the Systems Council SE & AI TC webpage.
