Systems Council Newsletter: Q3 2024 President's Message
Where has the summer gone? In just a few weeks students will return to school for the fall semester. I would like to welcome the 2024-2025 officers of our 25 student branch chapters around the world and wish you a great year! It is worth noting that the IEEE Systems Council has twenty-two student branch chapters in IEEE Region 10, two in Region 9, and one in Region 8. I would like to challenge IEEE Regions 1-7 to join our members outside North America in organizing IEEE Systems Council Student Branch Chapters. With school beginning there will be a new class of potential IEEE student members to recruit. I hope that you have some membership development activities in September.
On October 16 – 18, 2024, we will host the 10th IEEE International Symposium on Systems Engineering (ISSE) in Perugia, Italy. We have received many papers, so it should be a great event. Registration is now open, and you get a discount if you sign up before August 31st . The IEEE Systems Council Fall AdCom will be meeting right after the symposium. Don’t miss the opportunity to attend and meet some of the Council’s leadership.
The 2024 IEEE International Conference on Recent Advances in Systems Science and Engineering (RASSE) will take place on November 6-8, 2024 in Taichung, Taiwan. The Call for Papers is now open. Join us in IEEE Region 10, where our participation has grown so much in the past few years.
2025 will mark the 20th Anniversary of the formation of the IEEE Systems Council. Plans are underway to celebrate the event at our flagship conference, the International Systems Conference (SYSCON) as we return to the Delta Hotel in Montreal, Canada. Stand by for future announcements.
August also marks the beginning of the IEEE Annual Election. Voting opens on August 15th and ends at 12:00 noon ET (16:00 UTC-04) on October 1st. Exercise your right as an IEEE member to vote for the future leadership of this large and important organization.
