Remembering the Life of Dr. Mohammad "Mo" Jamshidi

Dear IEEE Systems Council Community,

With heartfelt sadness, we announce the passing of Dr. Mohammad "Mo" Jamshidi, who recently left us following a brief health battle. Dr. Jamshidi was a foundational pillar of our community and a global pioneer in Systems of Systems (SoS), control systems, and fuzzy logic. As an IEEE and ASME Fellow, his legendary textbooks and visionary research shaped modern systems engineering worldwide and had a profound impact on the IEEE Systems Council.

Beyond his monumental academic achievements, Mo was a deeply dedicated mentor who treated his students like family, championing their success with genuine warmth and generosity. On behalf of the IEEE Systems Council, we extend our heartfelt condolences to his family, his son Nima, and the global engineering community. Mo’s brilliant legacy lives on through the generations of engineers he inspired, and he will be profoundly missed.

We honor his memory and encourage the community to share their memories and condolences. We mourn together and remember Mo's extraordinary impact.
