I am pleased to share exciting news regarding the continued growth and strengthening of the IEEE Systems Council community.

We are delighted to welcome two new Member Societies to the Council this month:

  • IEEE Power & Energy Society (PES)
  • IEEE Solid-State Circuits Society (SSCS)

With the addition of these societies, we now proudly include three of IEEE’s largest and most influential societies: the Computer Society, Communications Society, and Power & Energy Society within our Systems Council community.

This represents a major step forward in expanding our interdisciplinary reach and impact. Their addition represents a significant milestone in our mission to advance interdisciplinary systems engineering. Both PES and SSCS bring deep technical expertise, strong global membership, and vibrant communities that will enrich our collaborative initiatives across research, standards, education, and industry engagement.

As we integrate these societies into the Council, we look forward to expanding joint programs, strengthening cross-society partnerships, and enhancing the impact of systems thinking across the IEEE ecosystem.

Please join me in extending a warm welcome to our colleagues from PES and SSCS.

We are excited about the opportunities ahead and the collective contributions they will bring to the Systems Council.

Warm regards,

Andy Chen President, IEEE Systems Council
