The IEEE Systems Council is honored to announce the recipients of the 2025 Bozenna Pasik-Duncan Humanitarian Mentorship Award, presented in conjunction with the IEEE Returning Mothers Conference 2025. This award celebrates individuals who have demonstrated exceptional dedication to mentorship, humanitarian values, and the advancement of underrepresented communities within the engineering and scientific fields.

This year’s awardees are:

● Dr. Morgan Kiani, Professor at Texas Christian University

● Dr. Sanjeevikumar Padmanaban, Full Professor in Power Electronics at the University of South-Eastern Norway

Dr. Kiani and Dr. Padmanaban have exemplified the spirit of compassionate leadership and mentorship that defines this award. Their commitment to guiding and uplifting others—particularly those navigating career transitions and personal challenges—embodies the mission of the Returning Mothers initiative and the lasting influence of Dr. Bozenna Pasik-Duncan, for whom the award is named.

The Bozenna Pasik-Duncan Humanitarian Mentorship Award was established to honor mentors who go beyond professional excellence to make a human impact—championing inclusion, empathy, and opportunity across global technical communities.

Join us in celebrating these remarkable educators and mentors who continue to inspire positive change in both academia and society.
