Yu-Cheng Fan (S’00–M’05–SM’13) received the B. S. and M. S. degrees in Electrical Engineering from National Cheng Kung University in 1997 and 1999 respectively, and Ph.D. degree in Electrical Engineering from National Taiwan University in 2005. From 1999 to 2000, he was an IC design engineer in Industrial Technology Research Institute (ITRI). In 2006, he joined the Department of Electronic Engineering, National Taipei University of Technology (NTUT), Taipei, Taiwan. Currently, he is a Full Professor. He was a Chairman of Undergraduate Honors Program of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of NTUT from 2014 to 2017. Dr. Fan was a visiting scholar of University of Washington in U.S.A. from July 2019 to Feb. 2020. He was an Associate Dean of the College of Electrical Engineering and Computer Science of NTUT from 2021 to 2022. He is a Chairman of Department of Electronic Engineering since 2023. His research interests are 3D point cloud algorithm and chip design, multimedia system, consumer electronics, three dimensional display system, image and video system, VLSI/SoC design. In 2005, he received IEEE Award for outstanding leadership and service to the IEEE NTU Student Branch. He has received Best Paper Award including IEEE ICCE 2003, IEEE ITRE 2005, CIASPCD 2010, APDSC 2010,  IEEE ISNE 2013, IDW/3DSA 2016, IMID/3DSA 2017, IEEE ISNE 2018, IEEE ICCE 2020 (Best Poster Video Award), IEEE ICIET 2021, IEEE ICCCI 2021, and IEEE WSCE 2022. Dr. Fan was presented with the Dr. Shechtman Young Researcher Award in 2015. He received IEEE ICCE-TW Service Award in 2016, 2017, 2018, and 2019. Prof. Fan was also received excellent research teacher award (2015), research progress awards (2010 and 2015), excellent teaching awards (2010, 2014, 2016, 2018) from National Taipei University of Technology. Dr. Fan has received Industry-University Cooperation Outstanding Achievement Award (2011, 2013, 2014, 2016, 2017, 2018, 2022) from Ministry of Science and Technology (MOST) and National Science and Technology Council (NSTC). He served as a Secretary (2021) and Vice Chair (2022) of CTSoc VAR Technical Committee. He served as Guest Editors for VLSI Design in 2014, Sensors in 2018, Sensors in 2020 and Micro-machines in 2022. He was an Asia and Pacific Regional Director of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society from 2019 to 2022, Associate Editor of IEEE Access (CTSoc Section) and IEEE Trans. on Consumer Electronics, Voting Member of IEEE Transactions on Games and IEEE Transactions on Cognitive and Developmental Systems. Currently, he is a Treasurer of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society and Chair of IEEE Consumer Technology Society Finance Committee from 2023 to 2024. He is elected as a BoG Members-at-Large of the IEEE Consumer Technology Society from 2024 to 2026. He is a scholastic honor member of Phi Tau Phi and IEEE Senior Member. His research results have been published on over 200 journal and conference papers.
