Dr. Windhya Rankothge is a post-doctoral research associate at the Canadian Institute for Cyber Security (CIC), University of New Brunswick, Canada. She is leading the research collaboration between ADGA Groups and CIC. Dr. Windhya received her PhD in Information Technology and Communication in the year 2017 from the University of Pompeu Fabra, Barcelona. Her research interests are on Cybersecurity Governance, Risk and Compliance Engineering.

Dr. Windhya has published her research work in numerous journals and conferences, and she is an IEEE Senior member. Also, she has served different international research communities as a reviewer, advisor, and executive committee member. Currently, she serves as an editor for IEEE Women in Engineering (WIE) magazine, chair for the WIE Day 2026 and vice-chair for the IEEE New Brunswick section. She is the recipient of the IEEE WIE Committee Volunteer of the Year Award for 2025, a lifetime discretionary honour. She is also a member of Women in Cybersecurity (WiCyS). Dr. Windhya is a public speaker on cybersecurity GRC, leadership, and professional communication, having delivered talks at national and international forums.
