Min Xie has been a Chair Professor in the Department of Systems Engineering at City University of Hong Kong since 2011. He completed his undergraduate studies and earned an MSc in Engineering at the Royal Institute of Technology in Sweden. He later obtained his PhD from Linköping University in 1987. From 1991 to 2011, he was associated with the National University of Singapore. Professor Xie has conducted extensive research in system modeling and analysis, with a focus on reliability and quality engineering. He has published over 400 journal papers and authored 10 books. He also served as an editor or editorial board member for more than 15 refereed journals. Professor Xie has mentored about 80 PhD students, who now excel in both industry and academia across various continents. He is a Fellow of IEEE (class of 2006) and a member of the European Academy of Sciences and Arts. He is also recognized as a Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher 2025. Previously, he served as Fellow Evaluation Committee Chair for IEEE TEMS.
