Joseph is currently a junior in the honors program at Purdue University pursuing a bachelor's degree in computer engineering. He plans to pursue a career in either robotics, control systems, or automation. Joseph's greatest strengths are technical project experience, leadership skills, and his ability to collaborate effectively in a group environment. One example of this would be his current position as Captain of the Boiler Robotics Club at Purdue. The group is a technical organization of about 40 members working to develop a semi-autonomous Mars rover to compete against other universities. As Captain, he manages six sub-teams, coordinates the funding and budget, and ensures the team is on schedule to achieve their goals. Another example would be his internship this summer, working as an Automation Engineering Intern for Textron. In this position, Joseph worked primarily to integrate and install various sensors throughout the plant that he was stationed in to automate different processes. He spent much time configuring the measurement detection software and programmable logic controllers to ensure the proper line operation. Additionally, he enjoys hiking, biking, spending time with friends and family, playing baseball, reading books, watching movies, and more. Solving problems that combine his engineering interests with his desire to contribute meaningful solutions towards improving humanity is his core motivation.
