James H. Lambert is a Professor of Engineering Systems & Environment at the University of Virginia, USA, where he is the Director of each of the NSF Center for Hardware and Embedded Systems Security and Trust (NSFCHEST.org), and the Center for Risk Management of Engineering Systems. He is a Fellow of each of the IEEE, ASCE, Society for Risk Analysis, and American Association for the Advancement of Science. He served as President of the worldwide Society for Risk Analysis. He was Chair of the Eighth International Engineering Systems Symposium CESUN2021.org. He was Chair of the Fifth World Congress on Risk, in Cape Town in 2019. He was Program Chair of the 2015 Annual Meeting of the Society for Risk Analysis. He is an Area Editor of the Wiley journal Risk Analysis, and an Editor-in-Chief of the Springer journal Environment Systems & Decisions. He is a Co-Founder of the IEEE Technical Committee on Social and Economic Security. He is an alumnus of the University of Virginia, USA (Ph.D., M.S.) and Princeton University, USA (B.S.E.). He is a registered Professional Engineer.
