Domenico Barretta is a Ph.D. candidate in Industrial and Information Engineering at the University of Campania "Luigi Vanvitelli" (formerly known as the Second University of Naples), where his research focuses on satellite onboard intelligence. He previously earned both his B.Sc. and M.Sc. cum laude in Aerospace Engineering from the same university, and completed a postgraduate degree in Space Policies, jointly organized by the Italian Society for International Organization (SIOI – UNA Italy) and the Italian Space Agency (ASI).

 

His professional experience spans research fellowships and industrial collaborations in the areas of distributed space mission design, maritime domain awareness, and artificial intelligence for spaceborne remote sensing applications.

 

He has also held visiting positions at international research institutions, including NATO STO – CMRE, ESA/ESRIN (Φ-lab Division), and NASA Jet Propulsion Laboratory / Caltech.
