Dr. Amirhossein Mehdipoor (Amir) is a Team Lead and Research Officer at the National Research Council Canada (NRC), Construction Research Centre, where he leads research initiatives in Modern Methods of Construction (MMC) and Industrialized and Digitalized Construction (IDC). His work focuses on advancing the adoption of digital technologies, automation, and industrialized construction methods to improve productivity, sustainability, and resilience across the built environment. His research integrates Building Information Modelling (BIM), modular and off-site construction, digital fabrication, robotics, and artificial intelligence to accelerate the digital transformation of the construction industry across Canada.

With more than a decade of international experience spanning Canada, Malaysia, and Iran, Dr. Mehdipoor has successfully bridged industry practice and applied research. Prior to joining NRC, he led BIM implementation, digital fabrication, laser scanning, cost management, and project coordination for modular construction projects in Canada. Earlier in his career, he managed digital project delivery and 5D BIM implementation on major infrastructure and high-rise developments in Malaysia.

Dr. Mehdipoor has authored numerous peer-reviewed journal articles and conference papers published in leading international journals and conferences covering BIM, automation, digital fabrication, modular construction, lean construction, and digital transformation. His research has been recognized through several national and international awards, competitive research grants, and industry innovation awards, reflecting his commitment to advancing the future of the built environment.

In addition to his research activities, Dr. Mehdipoor is actively engaged in professional leadership and knowledge exchange. He serves as Chair of the Prefabrication, Offsite and Modularization Think Tank at Building Transformations, where he collaborates with industry, government, and academic stakeholders to advance industrialized construction in Canada. He also serves as Vice President of the BIM Institute of Malaysia and is a Registered Quantity Surveyor with the Board of Quantity Surveyors Malaysia. Through his research, technical leadership, and industry collaboration, Dr. Mehdipoor continues to advance the adoption of emerging technologies that enhance productivity, sustainability, and the digital transformation of the global construction industry.
